Confetti Institute of Technology’s incredibly popular Industry Week may have had to move online this year, but that hasn’t stopped organisers from announcing a line-up packed with some of the biggest media names from the UK and beyond.

Running from Monday 8 - Friday 12 March, this exciting event gives students the chance to hear from experts from across the worlds of film, TV, music and games.

A busy schedule will feature talks from screen legends including BAFTA-winning actor Noel Clarke, well-known to nerds for his time on Doctor Who, and Russell T Davies, an experienced screenwriter whose new show It’s a Sin has already earned rave reviews.

Aspiring musicians will learn from the best in the business as comedian Adam Buxton interviews prominent producer Tony Visconti, who has worked with David Bowie, T Rex and Thin Lizzy, and Trevor Plunket shares his experience of managing tours for the likes of George Ezra and David Gray.

The next generation of game developers can also enjoy talks from John and Brenda Romero, whose work on games including Doom, Quake and Fortnite has led to a tonne of awards, and iconic local institute Warlord Games will run a number of sessions for Confetti’s die-hard tabletop fans.

Kicking off on International Women’s Day, Industry Week will launch with a fitting line-up of inspirational women.

Joining live from her studio in Hollywood on day one is music legend Susan Rogers, whose time as Prince’s recording engineer led her to work on illustrious albums such as Sign o’ The Times and Purple Rain.

Now in its 15th year, Confetti’s Industry Week aims to use the first-hand experiences of these media icons to give students a real insight into the industries they aspire to join - learning tips, tricks and insider knowledge to help them on their way to getting job-ready.

Confetti’s Chief Executive, Craig Chettle MBE, believes the event provides one of the most valuable teaching experiences a student can have.

"Our students choose to study with us for many reasons," he says, "but the insights and opportunities they get into real careers are what set us apart. Delivering this year’s event online has meant when compiling our wish list of industry guests, we could cast our net even further afield. Guests are ‘joining us’ this year from not only around the UK but from the USA."

Events will be live-streamed to Confetti students, with on-demand streaming available following each session.
