This Girl Can Teams Up with The Renewal Trust for Series of Sporting Summer Roadshows

The summer roadshows will offer women and their families the chance to try out a range of new sports and activities for free...

Nottingham charity The Renewal Trust have teamed up with This Girl Can to provide a series of summer roadshows between Friday 21 May and Saturday 12 June aimed at offering women and their families the opportunity to try their hand at different sports and activities for free.

The events - which include football, netball, cricket, boxing, dance fitness and more - will take place in venues and parks around St. Ann's and Sneinton, and are on offer for women and their families living in St. Ann's, Sneinton and Mapperley (Nottingham City).

The roadshows mark the continued collaboration between The Renewal Trust and This Girl Can, who worked together during the pandemic to provide 'feel-good' packs to help women stay active during lockdown. 

Here's what to expect from the events:

Friday 21 May

Time: 3pm - 6pm
Location: Robin Hood Chase

3pm - 6pm: Women in Tandem's Dr Bike Session
3pm: Netball, and cricket tasters from Notts County Cricket Club (ages 8 to 15)
4pm: Boxing with Jawaid Khaliq and WISE Taster Session with Freedom Foundation
5pm: Dance Fitness with Lucinda and Urban Hockey (family friendly)

Sunday 23 May

Time: 11am - 2pm
Location: Brendon Lawrence Sports Centre

11am: Basketball with Helping Kids Achieve (ages 6 to 12), Netball and Mindful Movement with eMotion in Motion
12pm
: Boxing with Jawaid Khaliq, Urban Hockey (family friendly) and Chair based exercise
1pm
: Skateboarding with Skate Nottingham (family friendly), Cricket tasters from Notts County Cricket Club (ages 8 to 16), Yoga with Serrera Yoga

Monday 24 May

Time: 4pm-6pm
Location: The Greenway Centre

4pm: Basketball with Helping Kids Achieve (ages 6 to 12) and WISE Taster Session with Freedom Foundation
5pm: Boxing with Jawaid Khaliq and Soccercise (family friendly)

Saturday 29 May

Time: 11am-2pm
Location: Brewsters Park

11am - 2pm: Women in Tandem's Dr Bike Session
12pm: Urban Hockey (family friendly) and Soccercise (family friendly)
1pm: Basketball with Helping Kids Achieve (ages 6 to 12) and WISE Taster Session with Freedom Foundation

Wednesday 2 June

Time: 12pm - 3pm
Location: King Edward Park

12pm - 3pm: Women in Tandem's Dr Bike Session
12pm - 3pm: Skateboarding with Skate Nottingham (family friendly)
12pm: Urban Hockey (family friendly), Boxing with Jawaid Khaliq
1pm: Football Skills (family friendly), Yoga with Serrera Yoga
1.30pm - 3pm: Cricket tasters from Notts County Cricket Club (ages 5 to 15)

Saturday 12 June

Time: 12.30pm - 2.30pm
Location: The National Ice Centre

12.30pm: Ice skating (family friendly - booking TBC)
