Eulogy 

When: Wednesday 22 September - Sunday 31 October

Where: Lakeside

How Much? £12.50

This week is the last chance to check out Eulogy at Lakeside. Utilising speech recognition technology and binaural sound, this immersive art project promises to take you on a journey like no other. Performed in complete darkness, the experience guides you through a dreamlike hotel in what has been described as a trippy sensory adventure.

Cirque du Soul

When: Monday 25 October, 10pm

Where: Rock City

How Much? From £16.50

If you fancy pulling out your best glitter eyeshadow, and getting carnival ready, then Cirque du Soul is right up your alley. Self described as when ‘burlesque meets bass’ this club night will have house, funk, soul, garage, bass and hip hop all within the setting of a circus. This one is a Halloween special, so think up your scariest outfits and get ready for a night that’s sure to be a spectacle.

Joker

When: Wednesday 27 October, 7.30pm

Where: Theatre Royal Concert Hall

How Much? From £22.50

If you’re a big Joaquin Phoenix fan, then you can catch a screening of Joker live at the Theatre Royal Concert Hall this Wednesday. The film, which won Best Actor and Best Original Score at the Academy Awards, will be accompanied by a live orchestra that will be playing the film’s original score.

Unknown Era 

When: Friday 29 October, 6.30pm

Where: Rescue Rooms

How Much? £10

Originally scheduled for July, Unknown Era are finally playing Rescue Rooms this coming Friday. Returning to their home city of Nottingham, the ska inspired band have a reputation of putting on high energy shows, jammed packed with sing along choruses. Combining Ska, Reggae and Hip hop, the show promises to be full of singing, dancing and general party antics.

Detonate Halloween: In the Arena

When: Saturday 30 October, 8pm

Where: Motorpoint Arena

How Much? From £37.93

After hosting their iconic outdoor festival at Colwick Park last month, Detonate are back with a new party, this time to be held at the Motorpoint Arena. The Halloween special is their biggest indoor event to date, advertising DJ sets from Sub Focus, Wilkinson and many more. Costumes are recommended.

Nottingham Horror Collective Launch Party

When: Sunday 31 October, 7pm.

Where: Liquid Light Brewery

How Much? Free 

It makes sense that the trio behind the Nottingham Horror Collective would host their launch party on Halloween. This Sunday you can spend the scariest evening of the year watching horror films and drinking beer at Liquid Light Brewery, alongside picking up the fourth edition of the zine. The event promises drinks, snacks, DJ’s, and a community of fellow horror lovers to spend this Hallows eve with.

Shazia Mirza

When: Sunday 31 October, 7pm

Where: The Glee Club

Inspired by her time on Bear Grylls' The Island, Shazia Mirza is touring the UK with her new comedy tour Coconut. The show, which is set to explore loyalty, what makes a good leader, and alpha men, is coming to Nottingham this Sunday. After previously being acclaimed for her ‘brave’ comedy, this show is set to be a light-hearted but insightful exploration of human nature.

Mall Grab

When: Sunday 31 October, 9pm

Where: Stealth

How Much? £11

If you count yourself among the many die hard stealth heads of Nottingham, then you can spend Halloween there for a special show headlined by Mall Grab. Also featuring other artists like EFFY and S.C.D.D Hazmat Team, the night is a perfect one for all you ravers out there.
