Long-time collaborators and musical legends Nick Cave and Warren Ellis are returning to Nottingham this Wednesday 8 September, and we're offering you the chance to bag one of five pairs of free tickets to the gig at Nottingham Royal Concert Hall.

Cave, whose genre-defying career has spanned six decades, and Ellis, his collaborator on film, music, theatre and television, are touring their new album, Carnage. Recorded over a period of weeks during lockdown, Cave described the album as "a brutal but very beautiful record nested in a communal catastrophe." Despite their frequent collaborations, as well as Ellis' long-serving member of the Bad Seeds, Carnage is the first time the pair have released an entire album of songs as a duo.

"Making Carnage was an accelerated process of intense creativity," says Ellis. "The eight songs were there in one form or another within the first two-and-a-half days, and then it was 'Let's make a record!' There was nothing too premeditated about it."

Outside of their numerous musical ventures, Cave and Ellis have come together on several high-profile film projects, including creating the soundtracks for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, The Road, Lawless, Hell or High Water and The Proposition, for which Cave also penned the script.
