Nottingham’s National Justice Museum has launched an exciting new podcast that will take listeners behind the scenes of this country’s justice system.

Hosted by retired judge and former barrister John Burgess, the Open Court series will include exclusive interviews with a wide range of people working in the judicial system - from advocates and court staff to probation officers and judges.

Avoiding complex terminology and confusing spiel, each podcast will offer a true, engaging, first-hand account of what goes on in court, helping to provide a clear picture of what it’s like in the unique world of justice.

The first episode is now available to download, and includes a discussion with Barrister Steven Gosnell, who talks about how his job brings both satisfaction and stress.

Future episodes, coming out every Friday, promise guests ranging from Her Honour Judge Nirmal Shant QC to Richard Bullock OBE - a solicitor and former Under-Sheriff of Nottinghamshire.

You can find the Open Court podcast on Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts
