Jay Electronica

Often regarded as one of the greatest lyricists of all time, Jay Electronica is performing at Rescue Rooms this Friday. After first appearing on Myspace in 2007 with the track Act 1: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge), the rapper has gone from strength to strength, collaborating with Jay-Z, and more recently releasing his highly anticipated album A Written Testimony. Truly a chance to see a rap legend.

Swiftogeddon - The Taylor Swift Club Night

When: Friday 21 Jan, 10.30pm

Where: Rescue Rooms

Calling all Swifties, Rescue Rooms is hosting a club night focused solely on Taylor Swift’s discography. Whether you’re in your Reputation era, or stuck playing All Too Well on Repeat, there will be an abundance of songs for you to sing along with. Featuring deep cuts, extended mixes, fan favourites, and all the best hits, this is a treasure trove for die hard fans.

Steven Hough

When: Saturday 22 January, 7.30pm

Where: Lakeside

Fancy a bit of a posh evening? Classical pianist Steven Hough is heading to Lakeside this Saturday to perform a two hour musical concert in the Djanogly Recital Hall. Previously described as fresh and fluent, Hough will be playing his original material as well as paying homage to his inspirations including Chopin and Alan Rawsthorne.

Young T and Bugsey 

When: Saturday 22 January, 8.30pm

Where: Rough Trade

Nottingham icons Young T and Bugsey can be found in Rough Trade this Saturday for a live in store performance and signing. The event celebrates the release of their latest mixtape Truth be Told, which will be released on 21 January.

The Districts 

When: Sunday 23 January, 7pm

Where: The Bodega

American rock band The Districts are travelling all the way to Nottingham this Sunday for a show at one of the city’s best indie venues - The Bodega. Showcasing their latest single Outlaw Love, alongside recent album You Know I’m Not Going Anywhere, the evening promises to be a great night of music from this rock trio.
