Located in the heart of Hockley, the venue was built in the 1600s and has previously housed a chapel and a brothel. In the 1980’s and 1990’s it gained notoriety as a haven for heavy metal bands and the likes of Oasis, Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian.
It was taken over in 2016 and underwent extensive renovations, turning the building into a more relaxed boozer. They still love getting loud and having a wicked time, but it’s a more chilled vibe under the new management.
It’s currently the only microbrewery in the city centre, brewing and serving their own (vegan) ales, in-house, alongside a range of rotating locally brewed ales and craft beers, plus premium spirits, classic cocktails, and organic wines.
